Local Law Enforcement
Approximately fifty automobiles have been smeared with what seems to be blood from a person in the Germany's town of Hanau in proximity to Frankfurt, as reported by authorities.
Vehicles, exterior walls and postboxes were defaced, in some cases with Nazi symbols, they stated in a official communication.
Police report they were contacted in the late hours on Wednesday evening, when a resident discovered that a vehicle in the Lamboy neighborhood of Hanau had been covered with a reddish-hued substance.
The substance had been applied in the pattern of a Nazi symbol, they reported.
Police then discovered many other vandalized automobiles and house walls in the surrounding area.
Swastikas are illegal in Germany under laws prohibiting the public exhibition of Nazi symbols.
Law enforcement report preliminary tests suggest the fluid was likely human blood.
"There is still no indication as to its source; officials are presently not aware of any harm in relation with the occurrence," they added.
Local authorities stated they were attempting "to solve the case" and have requested to the public for information.
An important representative commented the attack rendered him without words and required to be resolved quickly.
"This incident hits the core of Hanau and reopens the pain of the extremist attack five years ago," he stated on a platform, mentioning the murder of nine individuals by a gunman focusing on residents of immigrant origin in five years prior.
